Rode has been a growing brand in the audio industry/video industry for the past decade. I remembered when they came out with the original video mic pro which everyone purchased. Now they have started focus in the wireless market with the Rodelink Wireless Film Maker kit. This is their first version of a wireless Lav unit which I think turned out to be a great product. It switches channels automatically when signal is poor. It comes with their Lav microphone which has removable connecting ends for different applications. We are choosing to use these units for our TV show series and will be updating the blog with results in different situations.
We are also using the Rode NTG-3 Boom Microphone which has amazing sound for the price point. It comes with a solid carrying capsule and foam windscreen. They make a great deadbeat windscreen that is great for on camera applications.
For our outdoor shoot there was a bit of wind on the day we were filming so we used the Rode Blimp with the Rode NTG-3. This Blimp comes with sturdy suspension, and a large dead cat windscreen perfect for those high wind shoots.
The Rode Boom Pole is sturdy and has a foam grip which makes those different boom positions easy to hold.
